What is PAGE?

The Professional Association for Green Events is dedicated to the advancement of sustainable practices within the special events industry.
Sustainable events are produced by vendors that uphold values of Sustainability and produce events in a manner that does not degrade or detract from the environment or society for generations to come.
Through member meetings, a quarterly newsletter, and marketing events PAGE seeks to transform the events industry as a whole by informing, building community, and inspiring a new and regenerative future, together.

Membership
PAGE will consist of event industry professionals who, through membership, commit to setting higher “green event” standards each year, and to following sustainable practices within their business where possible.

How?
PAGE will consist of a wide variety of event industry professionals who are committed to setting higher “green event” standards each year, and following sustainable practices within their business.

The Organization So Far

  • PAGE is committed to transforming the events industry and therefore encourages broad membership and does not exclude.
  • Membership is based on the commitment to the Manifesto co-created by all founding members. The Manifesto sets yearly industry targets for the members. These goals will be decided through consensus voting at the yearly Symposium.
  • Through our collective efforts we hope to influence the buying/sourcing practices for the entire industry. New yearly targets will launch fresh lobbying efforts from the organization, accompanied by strategic marketing and PR campaigns.
  • A website, e-newsletter and other outreach materials will help build recognition, reputation, and inspire interest outside of the organization– sparking viral change efforts.
  • Quarterly meetings will maintain member interest and participation but the yearly Symposium will be an important gathering for all members, and is a large focal point for the organization.

Establishing a New Association
The decisions we make during this start-up period will have a great impact on the longevity, effectiveness, and success of PAGE.
As an association, we have many roles to fill, and we will rely on your expertise, volunteerism and enthusiasm to bring this initiative forward. As a creative committee, we will be group leaders and function as an organizational board.

Rolls to Fill:

  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Meeting Facilitator
  • Publicity Committee
  • Events Committee
  • Projects Committee

What’s Next?
Our next group meeting, on June 3rd, will be geared toward prospective partners and sponsors. It will be an opportunity to introduce PAGE to this group and to get further feedback.
In October, we will have a launch event, to grow a broader interest in PAGE and to build momentum toward a successful, sustainable association. From there we will adopt a quarterly schedule for PAGE networking and educational events, with intermittent organizational meetings and also venue tours and other “fieldtrips”.
Participating in the evolution of PAGE will not be without rewards!
The time is now for a preeminent association, which brings together leaders in the Green Events Movement, to put forth a standard of excellence for all event professionals to embrace and strive toward. We hope you agree, and will join us!
